Antonio Cassano expressed full confidence in the new Milan coach, Tiago Amorim, after the red club's victory against Udinese. In his interview with Viva El Futbol, the former striker underlined how Amorim has already demonstrated that he knows how to manage the club and that he has a clear plan to bring Inter back into a competitive position for the Champions League places.
According to Cassano, the Italian started working on Milan with a well-defined vision: eliminate Leão from the team and evaluate the use of Modric based on the needs of the match. The former striker recalled Amorim's statement after the match against Juventus, in which the coach stated that he understood the identity of the club and that he wanted to win with his own ideas. Cassano praised Amorim's ability to explain his tactical choices and take responsibility, highlighting his desire to enhance players like Tomori.
The commentator then pointed the finger at the centre-forward's problem, defining him as "a player who works a lot but who is unable to score goals". According to Cassano, the attacker does not have players capable of making the most of him, citing Bartesaghi and Chukwueze as examples of players who are not "potters" but rather dribblers. He also mentioned Pulisic and Hutchinson, who despite having scored, are unable to create millimeter chances. Despite this, Cassano is convinced that Amorim will be able to bring out the best from the midfield and attacking department.
The former player concluded by stating that, although one may not agree with all of Amorim's choices, the coach knows how to talk about football and how to play it. “I am convinced that Milan, with him, will be able to reach the top four,” he declared. With the victory against Udinese, the club consolidated its position in the standings, while Amorim continues to work to transform Milan into a competitive team at European level. The club's next challenge will be to consolidate its offensive strategy and find a striker capable of turning chances into goals, as suggested by Cassano.
