Udinese is preparing to play against Roma, but Kosta Runjaic's team has to face a logistical problem: fans resident in Friuli-Venezia Giulia will not be able to attend the next away match against Venezia, scheduled for Friday 6 November at 8.45pm at the Penzo stadium.
The ban was imposed by the prefect of the lagoon city, Darco Pellos, who prohibited the sale of tickets to Friulian supporters for the eleventh matchday of Serie A. The measure was adopted following an episode of violence that occurred at Basiliano station, where a group of Friulian fans attacked a train at the end of the Udinese-Venice match in February 2025. On that occasion, with the help of some twinned supporters from Salzburg, the travelers in the convoy were attacked and eight people were arrested.
The measure is part of a context of growing attention to the safety of fans during public transport, especially when it comes to teams with a history of accidents. Udinese, who are currently in a delicate position in the league table, will therefore have to count on a reduced crowd for their next match.
Despite the limitation, Udinese maintains its game strategy and focuses on the technical preparation for the match against Roma. The club underlined the importance of respecting the provisions of the local authorities and ensuring the safety of all supporters.
For the Friulian fans, the prefect's intervention represents a severe blow, but it was adopted to avoid further incidents. While waiting for the next match, Udinese will continue to monitor the situation and collaborate with the authorities to find solutions that allow safe and controlled participation of supporters.
