Donyell Malen, the young German striker who recently signed with Roma, now feels at ease in the Giallorossi team and is already proving to be a point of reference in the attack. After a spectacular debut in which he scored two goals against Real Madrid, the midfielder established himself as one of the best scorers in Serie A, finishing second in the goalscoring table, only behind Lautaro Martínez.
2026 could represent the most important year of Malen's career, especially considering his starting role with the national team under the guidance of Ronald Koeman. Despite a lackluster World Cup, the player was selected as a starter in the first two matches, demonstrating the trust placed in him. On the pitch, his presence was decisive: his ability to create chances and finish with precision made him a key figure for Roma.
During a recent interview, Malen spoke about his experience in Rome and how he finally feels in an environment suited to his playing style. "I have always scored goals, but never so much. From the first days I understood that here is the right place, with the right people. The coach and my teammates give me a lot of trust, and all this leads me to become what I dreamed of", he said. He also explained his decision to leave Aston Villa, saying he wanted to be part of a team where he could play regularly and contribute significantly. “Centre is the position I feel most comfortable in,” he added.
Malen's market value has risen significantly thanks to his performances with Roma. Gasperini's game system proved to be perfectly suited to his style, allowing him to express himself to the fullest. According to market estimates, its value is currently around 55 million euros. Should interest from Italian clubs emerge, the asking price is likely to exceed this valuation, reflecting his growth in value and importance on the pitch.
With Roma, Malen has already proven to be a versatile and reliable attacker, capable of scoring decisive goals and creating opportunities for his teammates. His presence in the center of the attack gave new life to the team, helping to improve offensive performances and strengthen Roma's position in the league table. Looking to the future, the player is ready to consolidate his reputation as one of the best attackers in Serie A and continue to lead Roma towards ambitious goals.
