Inter is preparing to challenge Fiorentina with the aim of recovering the top position in the standings, after Lazio's victory over Parma. Coach Cristian Chivu asked the club to respond to the success of their opponents and consolidate Gennaro Gattuso's leadership.
In the club's official Match Programme, midfielder Piotr Zielinski recalled his decisive goal against Juventus at San Siro last year. “If I think back to last season, I think that without a doubt my most important goal was the 3-2 against Juventus at San Siro, because it was decisive in an important match,” said Zielinski. He added that, since the beginning of the season, he had hoped to win the Double and that his desire to do well was very strong.
The Polish midfielder expressed his confidence in the team and the new coach, highlighting how Chivu has given him more space and opportunities. “With Chivu I found more space,” declared Zielinski, underlining the importance of the new tactical approach.
Inter, who have already shown a good pace of play, aim to use the match against Fiorentina to consolidate their position. The match is scheduled for 12.30pm at San Siro, where the club will try to implement Chivu's strategy and take advantage of the opportunities created by key players such as Zielinski.
The final result of this match could determine the seeding and influence the prospects of qualifying for European competitions. The club, with its current form, aims to keep the pressure on its rivals and consolidate its leading position in Serie A.
