Marco Libra, an Italian-Venezuelan midfielder born in Caracas, confirmed that he is a player who always believes in himself and that he has found a point of reference in Domenico Tedesco, former coach of Bologna. The young man, who began his career in the Bologna club at the age of 12, spoke about his journey and his recent experiences during an interview on Radio Nettuno Bologna Uno.
Libra asked to remember his first steps in the Bologna youth sector, where he arrived with the under 13s in 2020. "I have always been a midfielder, a playmaker, a midfielder and an attacking midfielder. In recent years I have understood that I can do well in these roles", he explained. Last year he was called up to the Primavera team and had the honor of representing the Venezuelan national team, a fact that makes him particularly proud. “I've always believed in it, because if you don't believe in it, you can't do it,” he added.
The relationship with Tedesco was described as very positive. "We were welcomed very well by the young players. In the retreat we had the pressure of having to do well, but we were helped and supported. They were important months and I owe a lot to Mister Tedesco for the trust he gave me", said Libra. The coach, now in charge of Bologna, recognized the importance of giving space to young people and helping them grow in the team.
As for his current position within the team, Libra reported that Raffaele Palladino is trying him out as an attacking midfielder behind the striker. "The intensity is always high, he requires a lot of physical effort, work on the second balls and going fast. For now he is testing me on the two quarters behind the striker. I hope to be able to play a few minutes", he declared.
Finally, the youngster shared his expectations for the next championship match against Inter. "We are calm and calm, we know it will be tough but we are coming off a victory and the sensations are good. The group is well and we are focused. I think we will give a good performance", he concluded. The team is therefore preparing for an important match, with Libra ready to make his contribution and demonstrate the value of his journey with Bologna.
