Diego Moreira has signed a new contract with AC Milan, with whom he closed an agreement that far exceeded his market valuation. The young striker, who was valued at around €18 million a year ago, is now thought to be worth around €45 million, while the club spent over €50 million, including bonuses, to sign him permanently.
Moreira had a very good year in 2026, playing 11 games in the Europa League for Strasbourg and scoring six goals. Belgian coach Rudi Garcia included him in his squad for the World Cup, although he was only included in the round of 32. These performances attracted the attention of Milan, who decided to invest heavily in his purchase.
On his first day at the club, Moreira expressed the feeling of being "magical" and of immediately feeling at home, thanks to the welcome of his teammates. He stated that he is ready to play and is waiting for the right moment to be fielded by the coach. Furthermore, he underlined that the club's investment demonstrates their trust in him and that he intends to demonstrate that he deserves that belief by giving his all on the pitch for the team and the fans.
Milan closed the purchase of Moreira to resolve the issue of Rafa Leão's heir, while the current midfielder Alphadjo Cissé continues to do well and cannot be overlooked. With this new signing, Milan strengthens its squad and prepares for the next challenges in Serie A and European competitions.
