The FC Barcelona coach, HansiFlick, enthusiastically celebrated the 2‑0 victory over Getafe, which allows him to stay at the top of LaLiga for another week after eight wins in eight days. The result, achieved after almost three weeks without competition for international matches, reinforces the club's position as the undisputed leader of the table.
Flick highlighted the importance of scoring early, especially against an opponent with one of the best defenses in the championship. “I really appreciate this victory, we controlled the ball and the opponent well,” commented the German coach during the press conference. He added that the quality of the team and the motivation of all the players are essential, since “there are players at a high level in the same position” and that “is the best for the team.” The coach also emphasized internal competitiveness, which he considers essential for collective success.
Gordon's debut goal, which opened the scoring, was particularly appreciated by Flick, who praised the young striker's speed, control and ability to create opportunities. As for GabrielJesús, the coach highlighted his performance different from Raphinha, but showed satisfaction for his contribution to the goal. Regarding Lamine, who completed the 90 minutes, Flick explained that he consulted him about a possible change and that, although he refused, the player showed greater involvement in the second half. The coach also mentioned Koundé, who returned to play after three games on the bench, and highlighted his professionalism and dedication to training.
Flick stressed that, despite the excitement of matching the best start to the season in Barça's history, the focus must remain on the next match against Galatasaray. “We want to make history, but the most important thing is that the players are very involved,” he said. Finally, the coach congratulated GerardMartín, who celebrated his hundredth game in the Barça shirt on Saturday, praising his mentality and constant desire to improve.
With leadership assured and morale high, Barcelona is preparing to continue its campaign with the same intensity that has characterized its dominance in the league.
