Milutin Osmajić became Genoa's brightest discovery in the recent match against Fiorentina. The Montenegrin striker scored a goal and provided an assist, decisively contributing to his club's victory. His performance was so impressive that it earned him the title of MVP of the match, a recognition that few players receive in a single match.
Osmajić, who was bought from Preston in a second-tier deal, has already proven he is worth the pick. In five league games played so far, the 27-year-old has already scored three goals, showing a rapid pace of play and an ability to create chances for himself and his teammates. His arrival on the pitch gave new energy to Genoa, helping to improve the offensive fluidity and depth of the attacking department.
Genoa coach Daniele De Rossi expressed great satisfaction with the performance of the new signing. According to De Rossi, the coach asked Montenegro captain Vučinić to explain the importance of Osmajić after the loss of Colombo. “I asked Vučinić to make people understand how important it was for us to have a player like Osmajić,” De Rossi said, adding with a smile that the young player brought “energy, enthusiasm and depth”. De Rossi stressed that although Osmajić does not have as well-known a name as some other candidates, he was the right choice for the group.
The coach also highlighted how player management must be based on the ability to find the right person for the role, rather than just who is stronger. “It is essential to choose the right players,” said De Rossi, quoting a manager who claims that the quality of the group depends on choosing the most suitable players. This philosophy is reflected in Genoa's strategy, which aims to build a cohesive and dynamic team.
With Osmajić now consolidated in the starting lineup, Genoa looks to the future with optimism. The team intends to exploit his versatility and talent to improve their position in the table and to compete in the next Serie A matches. The club's next match will be an opportunity to see whether Osmajić will continue to contribute with goals and assists, maintaining his leading role and consolidating his reputation as one of the most promising discoveries in the championship.
