Two days before the home match against USL Dunkerque, FCNantes coach Grégory Poirier held a press conference to take stock of the state of his squad. The club, which ended its last match in a 0-0 draw against Stade de Reims, is preparing to face the Dunkerque club on the ninth day of Ligue2, at La Beaujoire at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Canaries, currently 13th in the standings, are looking to return to victory in front of their home crowd and continue their climb in the table.
In his interview, Poirier recalled that three players remain absent for the upcoming game. MathieuCafaro, AlexisMirbach and TylelTati are still injured, representing a significant loss for the attack and defense. The coach also indicated that a fourth player, SekouDoucouré, is uncertain about his availability. According to Poirier, Doucouré could be reinstated in the Nantes group if his state of health allows it, but no final decision has yet been taken.
These absences have followed one another since the match against Reims, where the same players were already unavailable. The lack of depth in the squad was therefore a factor in the club's limited performance during this meeting. Poirier stressed that the situation remains precarious and that he will have to continue to manage these constraints to prepare the team for the confrontation with Dunkirk.
Despite these difficulties, FCNantes remains motivated to obtain a victory at home. The club aims to capitalize on the stadium advantage and improve its ranking in Ligue 2. Nantes supporters are therefore waiting to see their players return to the field, while hoping that the injured can recover quickly. Poirier concluded by expressing his confidence in his team's ability to overcome these obstacles and move closer to first place in the table.
