Lorenzo Lucca, the young striker from Moncalieri, was the protagonist of a press conference in which the Napoli coach, Massimiliano Allegri, reiterated his faith in the player's talent. Allegri said that Lucca, who has already shown that he can fit in well in Spain, has shown good qualities and must contribute with goals, despite the criticism he has received. The coach also mentioned Hojlund, underlining that the midfielder has played a lot of games and may need some rest or come to the bench.
Lucca's transfer to Napoli, which took place for 35 million euros plus bonuses, was seen by many as a flop. With 31 appearances and just two goals, the player averages a goal every 750 minutes. Before arriving at Napoli, Lucca had had experience in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, where he played nine games and scored just one goal against Leeds. In that period, Lucca had published a post in English in which he made a dig at the former coach and his former team.
Despite the difficulties, Allegri expressed confidence in Lucca's ability to improve and contribute to Napoli's success. The centre-forward was praised by Antonio Conte during a Udinese-Napoli match, but was then criticized for his performances. Allegri said that Lucca was criticized too much and that, like all players, he made mistakes, but he always maintained the right mentality.
Napoli is in a transition phase, with the team trying to find the right combination of players to achieve positive results. Lucca has been included in the team for the seventh matchday of Serie A against Venezia, where he will have the opportunity to demonstrate his worth. If he manages to score, it could change the perception of fans and professionals.
Napoli is currently in an average position in the table, but the team still has plenty of room to improve. If Lucca can find his form, he could become a key element for the team in the coming months. If he fails to find the goal, the club will have to evaluate other options to strengthen their attack. In any case, Napoli will continue to work to achieve their goals.
