Napoli Women achieved their first victory and first points in the women's Serie A during the third day of the championship, defeating Sassuolo Women 4-1 at their rival's home ground. The match, played at 12.30pm, saw the Neapolitans dominate from the start, with an attacking performance that left Sassuolo in difficulty.
The opening goal was scored in the 10th minute by Giordano, who started the Azzurri's dominance. The second goal came at 19 minutes thanks to Dompig, who then extended the lead with a hat-trick, scoring at 50 and 79 minutes. Sassuolo attempted to reduce the deficit with a penalty converted by Clelland in the 67th minute, but it wasn't enough to turn the situation around. Dompig's action was particularly brilliant, demonstrating his ability to create decisive opportunities.
With this victory, Napoli Women are placed in third place in the table, together with Como Women, Milan and Fiorentina, all with three points. Sassuolo, however, remains at the bottom of the table with zero points, while Parma and Lazio occupy seventh and eighth position respectively. Napoli demonstrated that they have a good balance between attack and defense, and the team showed strong team spirit and good tactical organization.
Among the other matches of the day, Como Women faced Fiorentina, while Ternana Women played against Lazio. The calendar for the weekend includes the Juventus-Como match at 12.30pm, Roma-Milan at 3.00pm and Inter-Parma at 6.00pm. Napoli Women will have to continue to consolidate their position in the league table, while Sassuolo will have to try to recover points in the next matches to avoid remaining at the bottom of the table.
