In the Napoli post-season, former defender Lele Adani expressed a harsh opinion on the new manager Massimiliano Allegri, after the match in which the Neapolitan team drew against Roma. In an interview with Viva el Futbol, Adani compared Allegri's work with that of Antonio Conte, underlining the differences in approach and results obtained.
Adani recalled how Conte, with the squad he had in his hands, won two championships and a Super Cup, bringing the team and the club back to levels of excellence after Spalletti's management. According to him, Conte has restored order, motivated the players and integrated new signings, creating a solid and winning system. In this context, the former defender highlighted how the Napoli team, under Allegri, has not yet reached the same level of cohesion and quality.
Adani's comment was particularly critical of Allegri, who, in his opinion, already seems to have got his hands on the "non-quality" of the squad. “The team is strong, but it is no longer solid,” he said, highlighting the lack of a clear vision from the coach. The former player reiterated that Napoli's difficulties are not due to the quality of the staff, which remains up to par, but rather to the lack of a recognizable imprint on the part of the coach.
Adani concluded his analysis with a strong criticism of Allegri's choice: "It wasn't a far-sighted choice, there's nothing far-sighted with him. You just have to hope that he gives something. But for now he hasn't done anything of what we had seen from his first career and he's not giving anything from his new career either. Allegri is the halfway point that doesn't have an impact." According to the former defender, Allegri's management has not yet produced the expected results and the team remains in a transition phase without a clear direction.
With the draw against Roma, Napoli still find themselves in a phase of uncertainty. Adani's words underline the need for a more defined strategy and a more far-sighted approach from the coach. The club will have to evaluate whether to continue on Allegri's path or look for alternatives to ensure long-term stability and success.
