Atlético de Madrid achieved an uncomplicated victory against Deportivo de La Coruña, consolidating its position in the LaLiga table and taking advantage of the result of the Clásico between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The match, which was played at the Ría de la Sagra Stadium, ended 2‑0 in favor of the colchoneros, with goals from the team's usual protagonists. With this victory, Diego Pablo Simeone's team adds three essential points that bring it closer to the leadership and put it in a favorable position before the next direct duel with Real Madrid, scheduled for the next two weeks.
Atlético benefited not only from its own performance, but also from the rival's drop in points. The Clásico ended with a defeat for Barcelona, which reduced the distance between the two teams and left Atlético with an advantage that translates into an opportunity to advance in the standings. Coach Simeone was pleased with the way the team has handled the pressure, highlighting his players' ability to stay focused and defend the lead.
Among the protagonists of the match, the young Argentine forward Giuliano Simeone expressed his satisfaction with the streak of six consecutive victories in LaLiga. "I am very happy for the victory after a match in which the game was a bit difficult for us in the first half and in the final stretch of the second half. The most important thing, without a doubt, are the three points. Now we have to rest because important games are coming up, in addition to correcting the mistakes we made and continuing to grow as a group," commented the player after the match. Giuliano stressed the importance of maintaining defensive discipline and group cohesion in the upcoming matches.
The striker also emphasized the team's long-term vision. “We are going to be a very strong team and we will fight for great things if we continue working in this way in all lines,” he stated. Despite not having started in the match against Deportivo, Giuliano highlighted his commitment to the collective goal: "The goal is to continue adding goals and assists, but always keeping a clean sheet, which is the most important thing for the group to achieve objectives. We must all continue working together because, from whatever position, here we all defend and we all attack."
With the current streak, Atlético de Madrid is positioned as one of the most competitive teams of the season. The next phase of the calendar includes decisive matches that will test the club's defensive solidity and offensive capacity. Fans can expect the team to continue its campaign with the same intensity, seeking to consolidate its position at the top of the table and get closer to the season's goals.
