Daniele De Rossi, Genoa's new coach, commented on the recent change in the club's sporting management during Sunday's press conference. The coach expressed his gratitude towards Diego López, who left the role of sporting director, and underlined the quality of the work done together with him and Blázquez. According to De Rossi, a manager's assessment must consider the long term, and he recognized the importance of decisions made during the transition period.
The new sporting director, Osmajic, initially aroused some criticism, but the coach specified that now everyone is enthusiastic about his work. He also highlighted how Osmajic's approach has been positive from the beginning, with constant dialogue with the group and the desire to continue the strategic lines already started by López. “The main task is to stay close to the team and continue where we left off with Diego,” said De Rossi, highlighting the importance of continuity in the management of the club.
As for the squad, De Rossi stated that any shortcomings will be addressed during the winter transfer negotiations. He also underlined the need to identify players with “pace” and “stripe” to strengthen the team in different roles. The coach illustrated his tactical vision, proposing a 3-5-2 with two attacking wingers that can transform into a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-1-1, depending on the needs of the moment.
Finally, De Rossi asked the fans to support the team during this restructuring phase, underlining that Genoa's future depends on the ability to adapt and build a competitive squad. The club is therefore preparing to evaluate the winter transfer options, with the aim of strengthening the team and ensuring positive results in the upcoming matches.
