Frosinone coach Massimiliano Alvini said the victory against Sassuolo was "of inestimable value", underlining the importance of a positive result against a top-level team. The interview, held immediately after the match, highlighted the club's determination to consolidate its position in SerieA, despite the difficulties faced during the season.
Alvini began by recalling the fundamental role of teamwork and the technical staff, stating that "every coach must give credit to the players he trains". He further explained that, although the team conceded a goal due to a too low position, the experience gained is a step towards salvation. “The path to salvation is clear and we must try,” he added, highlighting the need to continue working with daily commitment.
Regarding key players, Alvini praised midfielder Raimondo, who scored a hat-trick, becoming the first Frosinone player to do so in Serie A. The coach underlined that, although the acquisition of Raimondo was Castagnini's decision, the player's growth is the result of the club's work. “Raimondo is improving and his ambition is what counts,” said Alvini, highlighting his satisfaction with Raimondo's contribution to the result.
Alvini also answered questions about team management during the match. He explained that, at times, he required the midfielders to be more blocked, but maintained the flexibility to adapt to the needs of each match. “We have an identity and we want to determine, but each match has its own strategy,” he explained, confirming his satisfaction with the management of the second half, in which the team maintained the pressure against a strong opponent.
Finally, the coach dispelled the myth of the gap between SerieA and SerieB, stating that the work of staff, club and players is crucial to overcoming the difficulties. “We must not cause dramas like those that occur after a transfer to Naples, but we must concentrate on the path we have to take,” he concluded. Alvini asked the fans to continue to support the team, remembering that football is a job of sacrifice and collective spirit.
