Monza suffered a 3‑1 defeat against Lazio, with the match played at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The result was a blow to coach Ivan Juric and the team, who had hoped to take home a point in a match against an in-form opponent. After the match, midfielder Dany Mota addressed the press to comment on the club's performance.
In his speech, Mota clearly expressed his disappointment with the progress of the first half. “We did everything a bit wrong in the first half, I can't find an explanation,” he declared, recalling that Lazio were in great form. However, he highlighted that Monza entered the second half much better, creating chances and managing to equalise. “In ten minutes it is difficult to turn the game around against a team that is doing very well,” he added, highlighting the effectiveness of the group midway through the game.
Regarding his own performances, Mota admitted that he could have done better in some situations. "Maybe I could have done better, even taken it forward. But they are second there, I chose to shoot first and maybe I could have done better", he explained, referring to the two goals scored by Lazio. He also praised the save by the opposing team's goalkeeper, but underlined his disappointment with the final result. “I'm happy with my performance, but obviously disappointed with the result,” he said, reiterating his belief that if Monza had maintained their second-half style from the start, they could have achieved a more favorable result.
Mota then spoke about Juric's role in the club's growth. “We must congratulate the coach and the whole club, even the new ones who have arrived because we have created a good, young and healthy group,” he said. He acknowledged the coach's positive impact on his technical and mental development, promising to return all his efforts in the rest of the season. “If we start again like the second, I am 100% sure that we will achieve good results,” he concluded, showing confidence in Monza's future.
Finally, Mota compared the present Monza with the team that had played in Serie A in the past, highlighting a more attacking and attractive approach. “This is certainly a more attractive and offensive type of football, for me it is a very right idea,” he said. He acknowledged that the team made mistakes in the first half, but expressed optimism for the next match, which is expected to be equally difficult. With the conference over, Monza is preparing to review its strategy to face the next challenges in the season.
