Barça futsal is already in full preparation for its long-awaited return to the Champions League. The Blaugrana squad arrived in the city of Lučenec, home of the Main Round, on Tuesday, after an early flight from the Ciutat Esportiva and a bus ride that took them to the concentration hotel in Halič, Slovakia. Once settled, the team and coaching staff enjoyed a meal and a well-deserved rest before heading to the Lucenec Arena court.
Coach Javi Rodríguez and his players carried out their first contact session with the pitch, with the aim of becoming familiar with the conditions of the stadium and fine-tuning tactics before the opening match. The opening match is scheduled for Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (ESport3) against the Swiss Futsal Minerva. This match will mark Barça's return to European competition after a two-year interval without playing matches in the Champions League.
The schedule of the initial phase also includes a duel against Kazakhstan's FC Semey on Thursday at 4:00 p.m., and the conclusion of the round against the host Lučenec on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The club hopes to demonstrate a renewed and competitive version, recovering the ground lost during its absence in the continental tournament.
With the arrival in Slovakia and the first practice at the Lucenec Arena, Barça is optimistic and focused on its objectives. The expectation is that the team will achieve an outstanding performance in the Main Round, consolidating its position as one of the main contenders in the Futsal Champions League.
