Napoli concluded their match against Frosinone with a positive result, but coach Massimiliano Allegri expressed his desire to improve further. After the victory, Allegri spoke to DAZN's microphone, underlining that the team was aggressive at the start but missed key opportunities, especially in moments when Frosinone played directly. According to the coach, Napoli should have made better use of important balls, particularly in the first minutes, and closed the game more quickly in the second half, avoiding 2-on-1 and 3-on-2 situations.
Allegri also highlighted the need to reduce shots from outside the area, referring to the performance of Kevin De Bruyne, who showed an excellent presence in midfield, contributing with two goals and numerous decisive actions. The coach asked the players to regain their physical shape, recalling that many of them lost months of training the previous year. “We must improve the condition,” he said, insisting on the importance of constant work.
The coach then discussed Lang's role, both on a technical and human level. Allegri said he had spoken to the player, highlighting that his performance had not reached the expected level and that the responsibility was his. He quoted a proverb that goes “Help yourself, God helps you”, inviting Lang to ask more of himself. As for De Bruyne, Allegri reiterated that coaching champions is easier because these players have talent and genius, but discipline is fundamental.
On the defensive front, Allegri observed that the defenders have lost a bit of the taste for defending, for not letting players get on target and not being overtaken. He praised Badiashile's performance after the mistake against Inter, underlining that mistakes are inevitable but that the team must work to avoid getting excited. The coach also mentioned a penalty incident with Hojlund, explaining that Hojlund had no intention of taking the penalty, but De Bruyne had passed him the ball, to which Allegri responded that he had to give it back to him.
Finally, Allegri recalled that the next match is an important match against Villarreal, inviting the team to concentrate and continue to improve to face the European challenge.
