Sports Minister Andrea Abodi expressed optimism about the renovation of the Franchi stadium during the Festival delle Regioni in Florence. According to his statements reported by Italpress, the collaboration between the municipal administration and Fiorentina is now consolidated and the work is proceeding according to the directives of UEFA and the Football Federation. Abodi underlined that the project, initiated by the mayor, was structured to meet the needs of both parties, ensuring the continuity and quality of the works.
In the context of preparation for Euro 2032, the minister reiterated his confidence in the ability of local authorities to complete the works within the established timescales. "I see that the work continues and there is a definitive convergence between the municipal administration and the club; I am confident that things will be done as UEFA and the Football Federation ask," he said. The objective is to transform the Franchi stadium into a cutting-edge structure, capable of hosting the most important events in European football.
Regarding the next election of the president of the Football Federation, Abodi declared that he does not want to interfere: "I deal with other things, I let things be done in the right, correct way, then I will take note of who will be elected president on December 14 and I will continue to collaborate with anyone." In this way, the minister acts as a guarantor of a transparent and professional process, maintaining his availability to work with the new president once chosen.
In a parallel interview, Kimi Antonelli expressed enthusiasm for the prospect of an Italian driver becoming Formula 1 champion. "Step by step, there will be time and a way to celebrate it. Of course, after more than half a century, an Italian driver becoming champion... It means that the talent is there, you just have to know how to discover it, accompany it and support it," said Antonelli, highlighting the importance of structural support and the recognition of Italian talent in the world of racing.
With the work on the Franchi stadium continuing and the minister's confidence in carrying out the activities, Fiorentina and the Municipality of Florence appear ready to present a solid candidacy for Euro 2032. The next election of the president of the Football Federation, scheduled for 14 December, will represent a new chapter for Italian football, while the collaboration between institutions and clubs will continue to encourage the development of sports infrastructure in the country.
