Davide Nicola officially started his adventure at Venezia with the first technical training session, held on 15 October 2023. The start was preceded by a series of presentations the previous day, during which the new coach had the opportunity to get to know the players and explain his vision for the orange-green team. Today's training session saw the participation of a large number of members of the group, but four players remained absent due to recovery reasons.
Among those missing, the most notable is Thierry Correia, a winger who suffered a muscle strain in the flexor of his left leg. After new tests, the doctors confirmed the need to look into the recovery times of the player, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation. Coach Nicola underlined that the decision to let Correia return to the field will depend on the results of subsequent medical evaluations.
Other players who were unable to participate in training include Armel Bella-Kotchap, captain Gianluca Busio and winger Pasquale Mazzocchi. Bella-Kotchap, who was expected to recover, continues to follow a personalized rehabilitation program, which excludes him from being called up for the next match. Busio and Mazzocchi, also recovering, remain out of the group for the moment.
Despite the absence of some starters, Nicola tried to maintain the energy and motivation of the group, emphasizing the importance of discipline and physical preparation. He also asked the players to focus on teamwork and maintain a positive attitude as the injured players return to fitness. The coach also expressed confidence in the team's ability to adapt to initial difficulties and continue with determination towards the season's objectives.
With the start of training activities, Venezia is preparing to face the next week of competitions, while Nicola continues to monitor the health of the injured players. The club and the coach remain focused on the recovery of Correia and the other absent players, with the aim of bringing them back on the field as soon as possible to support the team in the upcoming matches.
