Barcelona achieved a new financial milestone in Sunday's Clasico, when the Spotify Camp Nou box office hit 19,105,768 euros, surpassing the previous record of 16,465,731 euros set in May last year. Although attendance was slightly lower (60,055 spectators compared to 62,213 in the previous edition), the club managed to maximize revenue through higher ticket prices and an expansion of the second tier, which now has four additional rows of VIP seats.
The average price of tickets was 984 euros without VAT, which represents an increase of 10% compared to the previous season. VIP seats, for their part, reached an average price of 2,727 euros, which boosted the turnover of the hospitality area by 350%. According to club data, 86% of the seats sold belonged to season ticket holders, with around 42,000 members, and around 10,000 additional tickets were sold to members during pre-sale at a basic price, before opening them to the general public.
The box office success was complemented by a record in the stadium shop, where sales exceeded 800,000 euros for the first time. In addition, the merchandising capsule linked to the alliance between Spotify and rapper Tyler, TheCreator, generated the greatest amount of income in the store and in Barça's e-commerce, consolidating its position as the artist that has contributed the most income to the club.
The club anticipates that the record could be raised even further once the stadium is fully completed, with a projected capacity of 104,600 seats, of which 9,500 would be VIPs. The current figure, with 5,000 VIP seats, already shows the income potential that could be achieved in future competitions. With the football season underway and Barça securing the league, the club hopes that demand will continue to grow, which could translate into higher revenues in the upcoming Clásicos and other competitions.
