Inter coach Luciano Spalletti declared that the Roma team will have to face Genoa with a "tough" fighting spirit. After the defeat against Lazio and the draw in the Champions League with Rennes, the victory at home against Lecce gave Juve some confidence, but the next championship match is already a test of continuity for Spalletti and his players.
In a press conference, the commander analyzed the situation of his team and the opponent. “Genoa are tough, both for the environment and for tactical solutions,” he said. He praised the physical strength of the Ligurian club, with Osmajic and Ostigard, and the quality of players such as Messias, Baldanzi, El Shaarawy and Vitinha. But he placed the emphasis on the "De Rossi streak", the determination that leads the players to fight until the last minute. “I know De Rossi well, he was my strongman on the pitch, he transmitted that will and tenacity to others,” he added.
Spalletti then explained the choice of 3-5-2. "The change in formation comes from the moment we are having and the situation of the players. We must not penalize those with different characteristics in our squad", he stated. He underlined that a small rotation can transform the formation into 3‑4‑2‑1, with the possibility of including Muani as well. He also clarified that the tactical choice is not a request from the players, but a decision from the coach. “They would never allow themselves to say what system to play because it would be disrespectful to others,” he said.
Genoa, with their combative mentality, represents an important challenge for Inter, who need to consolidate their position in the league after an initially turbulent season. Spalletti expressed confidence that the team can find the continuity necessary to overcome the difficulties.
Tomorrow's match, against Genoa, will therefore be a crucial test for Juve. If they manage to maintain tactical discipline and exploit the physical strength and will of the players, they will be able to put away the nightmares of this first part of the season and resume the race towards the rankings. Next week we will therefore see if Spalletti's strategy will bring the desired results.
