Clarence Seedorf is back on the field, this time as coach of Corinthians. The Brazilian club has made the appointment of the veteran former AC Milan and Dutch national midfielder official, with a contract that lasts until the end of 2027.
Seedorf, after retiring from his playing career, already had a short spell in charge of Milan in 2014, for six months, before undertaking a series of assignments abroad. He managed Shenzhen FC in China, Deportivo La Coruña in Spain, the Cameroon national team and Esteghlal in Iran, as well as being part of the management committee of the Dutch national team. His last experience, with Esteghlal, ended four months ago, leaving him ready to take on a new role of responsibility.
Corinthians, one of the most historic clubs in Brazil, has chosen Seedorf to lead the team with the aim of consolidating its position among the elite of South American football. The club president underlined the importance of a coach with international experience and a consolidated tactical vision. Seedorf, for his part, expressed enthusiasm for the challenge, stating that it is an “honor and a responsibility” to accept the new adventure.
The new coach will have to face a competitive championship and a Copa Libertadores season, where Corinthians have already shown they have potential. With a contract that extends until 2027, the goal is to build a solid team, capable of competing both nationally and internationally.
For now the club has started working with the new technical staff and planning the away games for next season. Seedorf, with his many years of experience in different football fields, is ready to lead Corinthians towards new heights, with the hope of bringing the club back to the top of Brazilian football and competing successfully on the continental stage.
