Inter president Giuseppe Marotta gave a speech at the shareholders' meeting in which he celebrated the 2023-24 season, highlighting the team's third domestic double and the club's consolidated financial position. Marotta also illustrated the infrastructural development and sustainability projects that Inter intends to pursue in the coming years.
During his speech, Marotta proudly recalled that Inter won their twenty-first scudetto and tenth Italian Cup, led by Cristian Chivu in his first season as coach. He underlined that, although the team achieved excellent results at home, last season's European run did not live up to expectations, and that the aim is to further improve its performance in continental competition.
The president then spoke of the return of capital to profit, a result that follows the arrival of the new ownership of Oaktree. The approved financial statements confirm that revenues exceed 500 million euros, with a net profit and financial charges lower than the previous year. Marotta reiterated Inter's commitment to maintaining a balance between economic sustainability and sporting competitiveness.
On the pitch, Inter introduced the Under 23 team into Serie C and saw the Inter Women reach the group stage of the UEFA Women's Champions League, confirming the growth of the women's sector. Marotta also announced the acquisition of the Meazza stadium and the Great Urban Function of San Siro, with the aim of transforming the area into a cutting-edge sports and entertainment hub. At the same time, investments were launched to strengthen the Inter Training Center in Appiano Gentile and the Konami Women & Talent Center.
Finally, Marotta presented Inter's first Sustainability Report, a document that maps the initiatives already underway and identifies areas for improvement. The president closed his speech by thanking the fans for their constant support and reiterating the objective of continuing to grow both on the pitch and in the community, with the phrase "Go Inter!".
