Cagliari have confirmed the availability of Yael Trepy, a 17-year-old French striker, for the next match against Roma. Coach Fabio Pisacane announced his presence after the serious accident in August which saw the young player hospitalized in intensive care in Sassari due to a large amount of fluid in his lungs.
Trepy, who had suffered a heart attack during a swim in Baja Sardinia, was kept in a medically induced coma for a few days. Thanks to rapid medical intervention and an intense recovery process, the boy managed to overcome the most delicate phase and get back into shape. After leaving the Santissima Annunziata hospital, he continued his rehabilitation in Trentino, before returning to the Assemini sports center where he gradually began to replenish his workload.
Last week, Trepy returned to play with his teammates, demonstrating that he is ready to resume competition. Pisacane, initially considered sending him to play with the Primavera, decided to include him in the squad for the away match at the Olimpico. “He is coming with us to Rome,” declared the coach, underlining his confidence in his recovery and his potential contribution to the group.
Cagliari also confirmed that other players, including Winks, have not been called up for the match, while Idrissi has been left off the list. However, all other team members are available for the challenge.
With the match against Roma imminent, Cagliari is preparing to show a new face of hope and resilience. Trepy's return is seen as a positive sign for the team, which aims to consolidate its position in Serie A. The next matchday of football will be an opportunity to evaluate the young attacker's impact on the pitch and to see whether his energy and determination will contribute to improving the club's performance.
