AC Milan have published the medical press conference confirming the success of the surgery on Alexis Saelemaekers' right ankle, performed in Amsterdam. According to the official note, the player underwent an arthroscopic cleaning and ankle stabilization, with the operation conducted by Dr. Gino Kerkhoffs and supervised by Dr. Andrea Bulgheroni and physiotherapist Diego Mantovani, part of the club's medical staff. The result was described as "perfectly successful", leaving the player in good condition for recovery.
Saelemaekers, who has already had to face a long break of around five months due to an ankle injury, had announced the need for surgery to be able to return to play as soon as possible. The operation, scheduled for today, was therefore a positive turning point for the Belgian defender, who will now be able to focus on recovery and returning to the pitch. Milan reiterated its commitment to supporting the player throughout the rehabilitation process.
The club also recalled that, following the surgery, Saelemaekers will have to undergo an intensive physiotherapy program to restore mobility and strength in his ankle. The AC Milan doctor indicated that, although the surgery was a success, full recovery could take a few more weeks. The club expressed confidence in the player's ability to return to optimal performance once the rehabilitation program is completed.
Meanwhile, Milan continues to monitor the situation of its players and plan the next moves for the season. With Saelemaekers' surgery now concluded successfully, the club can focus on the next Serie A matches and reinforcement plans for the future. The next step will be to evaluate the defender's level of recovery and his possible integration into the team before the next matches.
