Barcelona has once again been crowned the best women's football club in the world by winning the award for Best Club of the season at the Ballon d'Or Gala. This is the third time that the Catalan team has received the recognition, after the titles obtained in 2023 and 2024, and repeats the feat of the previous edition when Arsenal was awarded. The award is presented after the 2023-24 season, in which Barça won the four titles it competed for: the League, the Queen's Cup, the Spanish Super Cup and the Champions League.
The campaign was extraordinary. Barcelona played 47 games, of which they won 45, drew 3 and lost only one, scoring 194 goals and conceding just 21. Coach Pere Romeu used 29 players throughout the season, with an average age of 24.8 years. Twenty-one of them scored at least one goal, and all three goalkeepers from the first team participated in the contest. The success is due to both individual quality and the team spirit that has characterized the club in recent years.
President Joan Laporta and technical director Pere Romeu have led a structure that has allowed Barça to consolidate itself as a world leader in women's football. The club has shown an insatiable hunger to continue improving, and they are already working to surpass their own records in the current season, in which they are participating for the first time in five different competitions, adding the FIFA Women's Champions Cup to those already won.
With the award in its hands, Barcelona confirms its dominant position in the women's scene and reinforces its reputation as a model of sporting excellence. The club's next objective will be to maintain and exceed the standards achieved, while continuing to compete in all the competitions in which it participates.
