Real Sociedad has become the only team with a triple nomination for the monthly LaLiga awards, after an October of outstanding performance in both the league and the Europa League. The Basque club has obtained four of the six possible points in the European competition and has achieved the nine points it had in the championship, remaining undefeated in the season. The only defeat of the month was a friendly against Athletic Club in the final of the Euskal Herria Txapela, a match that does not affect the League classification.
In the area of awards, La Real has three candidates in different categories. Portuguese striker Gonçalo Guedes has been nominated for Best Player of the Month, competing against figures such as Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé. Despite his limited number of minutes, Guedes has scored his first two goals of the season and assisted Turrientes in the match against Levante, demonstrating his contribution to the team game. For his part, the American Jon Martín has been considered for the Best Under-23 Player award, along with young people like Revivo from Elche, Niño from Málaga and Diomandé from Real Madrid. Martín has been a key player in the defense and scored a goal with a header against Deportivo. Finally, Real coach Pellegrino Matarazzo faces the difficult task of winning the Best Coach of the Month award, competing with names like Simeone and Mourinho. Matarazzo has managed to place the team in fifth position in the league ranking, reflecting a notable collective improvement.
The voting process will take place on the official LaLiga website, where fans will be able to choose between the candidates in each category. In the case of Matarazzo, the competition will be especially tough, as he will have to overcome coaches with experience and international recognition. Even so, the 100% of the points that Real has accumulated in the month gives it a considerable advantage.
In the women's competition, Real also stands out with Ainhoa Marín as a candidate for the Best Player award. The Catalan has had outstanding performances against teams such as Valencia, Barcelona and Espanyol, and has also scored in the Europa League against Fenerbahce, contributing to the team's recovery. Among the other candidates are Patri Guijarro (Barcelona), Fiamma (Atlético), Schroder (Real Madrid), Carlota (Tenerife), Nanclares (Athletic) and Lucía Pardo (Deportivo).
The next step for Real Sociedad will be to wait for the results of the votes, which will be announced in early November. In the meantime, the club will continue to work to consolidate its position in the league and European competitions, in the hope that its players and coach can take home the prizes they have been awarded.
