Como consolidated their position in Serie A with a convincing 3‑1 win against Torino, proving they are a team in the midst of growth. The result was celebrated by coach Cesc Fabregas, who underlined the importance of patience and resilience, values which, according to him, allowed the group to transform a difficult match into a solid victory.
In the post-match Fabregas commented on the team's performance, stating that the team still has to prove that it is a great reality. He recalled the difficulty of playing in the Champions League, where a single mistake can result in a crushing defeat, and highlighted the need to maintain concentration and discipline in every match. “We cannot afford to lower the level,” he said, recalling the importance of not losing motivation, especially with the next match against Venezia.
The coach also spoke about the management of the calendar, underlining that Como is playing in a period of great intensity, with four matches in ten days. He recognized that the team needs more tactical solutions and greater stability in the lineup, especially after Addai's injury and the lack of external players. “We must continue to play with our style, without fear,” he added, reiterating that the club's growth is a continuous process.
Fabregas also reflected on the value of defeats, stating that every defeat is a learning opportunity. He cited the previous defeat against Frosinone as an example of how the team can turn disappointment into motivation to improve. “Every match is an opportunity to grow,” he declared, highlighting the importance of not being discouraged by difficulties.
Finally, the coach answered the question whether Como can fight for the scudetto. He reiterated that, although the team is still consolidating, their aspiration is to compete at its best, but also underlined that the Champions League requires a different level of preparation and rotation than tournaments such as the Conference or the Europa League. With the season still underway, Fabregas closed his speech by inviting the players to continue improving, maintaining concentration and aiming to achieve the points necessary to aspire to the title.
