Real Sociedad achieved a convincing victory over Deportivo de La Coruña in which three players scored for the first time this season, becoming the team's ten scorers in just nine games. JonMartín, ArsenZakaryan and GonçaloGuedes contributed the three goals that sealed the victory and ended their streaks without scoring.
The match, which was played at Real's home in Anoeta, featured several protagonists, but the focus was on the three forwards who, after a long wait, found the net. JonMartín opened his account with a header that demonstrated his aerial ability. He took advantage of a mistake by Deportivo's defense and a well-executed corner by Soler and Guedes to finish with precision. This goal was Martín's third in the first team, all from a header, and marked his first goal of the year before the Copa del Rey final. The second goal came unexpectedly: ArsenZakaryan, who had been on the bench, started as a false “9” and scored a great goal with a left-footed shot from the edge of the area. It was his first league goal since October last year, when he scored in the Cup against Negreira, and his first league goal until February 2025. The last of the three, GonçaloGuedes, who had not scored since March, ended his streak with a long-range shot. Despite an overall mediocre performance, Guedes took advantage of a counterattack, got ahead of the central defender and finished with his left foot, beating goalkeeper LeoRomán.
With these three goals, Real Sociedad now has ten players who have scored this season, totaling 13 goals in nine games. The team's top scorer, MikelOyarzabal, has not yet scored his first goal of the season, although he had the opportunity against Deportivo and a clear opportunity was annulled. In the scoring table, Sucic leads with three, Barrenetxea with two, and a group of eight players share one goal each: JonMartín, Zakharyan, Guedes, SergioGómez, Ochieng, Óskarsson, Soler and Yangel.
The victory not only marked the end of the droughts of the three forwards, but also reinforced Real's position in the league. With a solid scoring streak and the addition of new strikers, the team is preparing to continue its campaign in hopes of maintaining the momentum and seeking positive results in the upcoming matches.
