Fiorentina have announced that Croatian defender MarinPongracic was injured during the match against Inter at the SanSiro. According to the official note, the coach had a series of clinical-instrumental tests carried out which highlighted a myofascial lesion to the long head of the biceps femoris of the right thigh. The player has already started the therapeutic-rehabilitation process envisaged by the medical plan and will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.
The player, who played an important role in the Gigliati defense, will therefore have to leave for a recovery period which has not yet been precisely defined. Fiorentina then announced that, pending his return, the club will focus on the upcoming championship matches. The team will face Atalanta on 29 October, then Sassuolo on 2 November and Juventus on 8 November. Meanwhile, coach MaurizioVanoli reiterated the importance of maintaining a team defense, especially against high-level opponents.
The news comes at a time when Fiorentina are looking to consolidate their position in SerieA, after a season of ups and downs. Pongracic's injury could be an obstacle, but the club is confident in the player's ability to return to form. Meanwhile, the other members of the defense will have to compensate for his absence as the team continues to work to improve its performance on the pitch.
For now, fans can expect Fiorentina to face their upcoming matches with a slightly different lineup, but with the hope that Pongracic can return to play as soon as possible. The club will continue to monitor his evolution and provide updates on his health.
