Real Madrid claimed a decisive victory at Camp Nou, 3‑1, thanks to a goal from Kylian Mbappé and a solid intervention from Lunin, the reserve goalkeeper who replaced the injured Courtois. The result, achieved at Barcelona, was an important step for Los Blancos in the La Liga title race, and manager José Mourinho used the post-match press conference to highlight both the performance of his second goalkeeper and some refereeing decisions that troubled him.
After celebrating Mbappé's goal, Mourinho turned his attention to the reporters, noting with irony that no one had asked him anything about Lunin. "You have already asked me two questions and none about Lunin. If we had lost here due to mistakes by Lunin, surely the first or second question would have been about him", said the Portuguese. With these words he wanted to highlight the importance of the mental work carried out the previous evening, when he motivated Lunin to "play" rather than "sit on the bench". The goalkeeper demonstrated poise and calmness, helping to maintain control of the game and secure the victory.
Mourinho also praised the solidity of the group, stating that "the group is strong and the players are very united, even in the most difficult moments". This unit was instrumental in overcoming a pitch like Camp Nou, where Los Blancos showed authority and determination. The victory was celebrated as a success for the entire staff, with particular recognition of the teamwork that allowed them to face the opponent with confidence.
Despite the celebration of the three points, Mourinho expressed some frustration towards the refereeing management. He praised the referee for his handling of the match, but criticized VAR, saying that "VAR fell asleep in the 60th minute, on a decision that could have had a huge impact on the match". In particular, he cited a foul by Cancelo on Diomande which should have resulted in a clear red card. "But a great match, a great victory. The boys deserve it", concluded the coach, while maintaining his position clear on the importance of making a correct decision in critical moments.
With this victory, Real Madrid moves further closer to the top of the table, while Barcelona remains in difficulty. Mourinho closed the conference with the promise to continue working on the group, aiming to maintain their form and consolidate their position in La Liga. Real Madrid's next match will be crucial to see if the team can maintain the energy demonstrated in the match against the Blaugrana.
