Milan owner Jerry Cardinale has emphasized his confidence in new coach Ruben Amorim this season. "He is not in danger and I am on his side," Cardinale said, praising the new atmosphere Amorim has brought to Milanello, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reported on the 30th. Milan welcomed Amorim this summer and are now in 5th place in Serie A with 18 points after nine games, and are 24th in the league phase with one win and two losses in the UEFA Europa League.
Cardinale supported his coach's position, saying Amorim had "created a completely different atmosphere at Milanello than in the last four years." Furthermore, he stated, ``I will always focus on where I can improve, and I will not stop until I achieve my goals,'' indicating his strong desire to win the title. He also touched on the current situation, which is stressful due to the large number of injuries, and pointed out the need to strengthen the team's structure.
Despite signing Gonzalo Ramos, Diego Moreira and Mario Gila this summer, Cardinale said, ``We didn't realize everything we wanted to do in the summer, so we need to continue to strengthen the team,'' adding that an additional transfer window is needed. He emphasized, ``We have only reached a quarter of our goal. Our top priority is to build a team that can deal with injuries.''
Looking ahead, Cardinale said he will continue to improve the manager's vision and the support of his staff in order for Milan to regain its competitiveness. He said, ``The future of Milanello will be built with Amorim,'' and is determined to take concrete steps toward winning the title.
