Cagliari coach, Fabio Pisacane, commented on the defeat against Bologna in an interview broadcast by DAZN. According to him, Winks' exit has compromised the dribbling ability of his staff. “In the first half we could have focused more on direct attack, but the team sometimes turned the ball over too much when it could have gone deeper,” he said.
Pisacane also underlined that Bologna managed to break the deadlock with the inactive ball, transforming the match into a battle of who takes the initiative. “It was a game that would be addressed by whoever unlocked it first,” he explained.
The coach then asked the players to regain the "bite" they had shown in the past, especially after the match against Monza. "I don't feel like talking about bite at the moment, but the team tried. If Bologna takes the lead and tries to attack directly, it puts you in difficulty," he added.
Regarding the formation, Pisacane mentioned the need to give more space to a young striker alongside Mendy. "He needs to grow, he has great potential. When you have a player of his age it's not easy, but we have to find a compromise," he said.
Finally, the coach reiterated the importance of maintaining continuity and moving the table. “There's no point if we don't continue and move the rankings,” he concluded.
Cagliari will therefore have to get back into the rhythm of the game and try to recover the points lost to remain competitive in the league table.
