Genoa is preparing for a day of evaluations at home, with the aim of consolidating the team before Sunday's match against Venezia. The match, scheduled for 3pm at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, presents itself as a crucial opportunity to recover the three points that Daniele DeRossi's team lost against Roma and to demonstrate their strength in front of their fans. The club, which recently achieved a positive result against Fiorentina, aims to harness the energy of the public to resume the path towards stability in SerieA.
The context of the match is further complicated by the recent wave of illnesses that has hit the Genoa dressing room. An intestinal virus affected numerous players and staff members, including Tommaso Baldanzi and Lorenzo Colombo, the latter recovering from a sprained ankle. DeRossi underlined the importance of monitoring the health status of the players, indicating that the final evaluation will take place after the return of Ethan Meichtry, who has recovered from the injury suffered during his participation in the Swiss national team. Meichtry is expected among the squad and will represent an additional opportunity for the attack, which will continue to be led by Osmajic.
The Grifone coach, in fact, will have to make an accurate "count" of the players who have returned to form after the infection, in order to define the final composition of the team. The presence of Meichtry, who has shown that he is capable of contributing with his speed and precision, is seen as a key element in increasing the offensive pressure on Venezia. Genoa, which has already demonstrated its ability to adapt quickly to challenges, is preparing to take advantage of its experience and team strength to face the weekend's challenge.
The result of this match will have a direct impact on Genoa's position in the league table, especially considering the recent victory against Napoli, where the club showed a prestigious performance. The match against Venezia is therefore a test of resilience and ability to recover, fundamental elements for the club as it seeks to consolidate its position in Serie A. With the team ready to field the most suitable players, Genoa hopes to transform the match into an opportunity for growth and consolidation for the season.
