Paolo Vanoli, Fiorentina coach, spoke to DAZN before the match against Atalanta, highlighting the need to continue the team's growth path. “We must continue to grow,” he said, recalling the positive performances obtained in Como and at the San Siro, where Fiorentina showed a “good” level of play that deserved more. The coach underlined the importance of the support of the fans, describing them as the twelfth man and thanking them for their presence and understanding of the crucial role they play.
In his speech, Vanoli highlighted the mentality and desire to improve that he has observed in recent matches. “We must continue to grow and no longer make the mistakes of the past,” he said, referring to the positive results obtained against Como and Inter. The objective is to maintain that level of performance, aiming to consolidate Fiorentina's position in the standings and guarantee constant results in the next matches.
The context of the match against Atalanta was further illuminated by the background news: Atalanta had already gained an advantage thanks to a goal from De Ketelaere, while Fiorentina had to manage Kean's injury, which influenced Mancini's tactical decisions. Furthermore, Atalanta suffered an injury to player Kristensen shortly after the start of the match, with Scalvini coming on in his place. These events added tension to the match, pushing both teams to give their all to get the three points.
Vanoli closed his interview by reiterating the importance of the team and teamwork. “We have to give our all and bring home three points,” he said, referring to the team mentality that has guided Fiorentina in recent matches. The coach also underlined that the future of the team depends on the ability to continue to grow, improve and maintain internal cohesion, key elements to face future challenges.
With the match underway, Fiorentina finds itself having to demonstrate that Vanoli's words are not just rhetorical. The final result will depend on the players' ability to translate their determination and will to improve into concrete actions on the pitch, while the fans will continue to support the team with their energy and enthusiasm. The next step for Fiorentina will be to consolidate their position in the standings and prepare for the next challenges, with the aim of achieving increasingly ambitious results.
