Strahinja Pavlovic, Milan defender, participated in last night's press conference, 6.30pm, ahead of the match against Salzburg which will take place tomorrow at 6.45pm at the RedBull Arena. The interview, broadcast live on TMW, provided interesting insights into his state of mind, the contract renewal and the role he intends to play in the team.
The player started by talking about his recent renewal with the club. “I am really proud and happy to have received the new contract,” said Pavlovic, thanking the coach and management. “I hope that things continue to improve in the future, so that we can play many quality matches in this shirt.” The defender underlined the importance of having clear instructions on the game formation, stating that the team is ready to play both in a three-man and four-man defence, as long as the instructions are precise. “If we have clear indications, we will not have problems,” he added.
As for his position on the pitch, Pavlovic made it clear that he has not yet decided whether to play as a striker. He said he has a few more points to prove before he can take on that role, but expressed hope of returning to scoring in short order. “It was just a joke, there was nothing serious, but I hope to really score again very soon,” he explained.
The player then shared his memories of Salzburg, where he spent two years of personal and professional growth. "I've already seen a lot of familiar faces and I'm very happy to be back here. I'm excited and can't wait for tomorrow's game," he said. He also reflected on the change he has undergone since arriving at Milan, highlighting the different pressure and objectives compared to the Austrian club. "For me, the perfect year here would be the one in which we win trophies. It's the biggest dream a Milan player could have," he declared.
Finally, Pavlovic expressed his respect for the great defenders who have worn the Milan shirt. “We are lucky to have all these photos and all this history in Milanello, which can always remind us which club we are playing for,” he said. "Playing for Milan is a great responsibility, but also a great honor. I try to live it like this: to improve every day, just like all the great champions who have worn the Milan shirt."
With attention now focused on tomorrow's match, Milan fans will be able to see if Pavlovic will be able to put his words into practice, contributing to the search for trophies for the Rossoneri club.
