Atalanta Under 23 accepted the pitch's verdict regarding the match against Latina, which ended in a 2-0 defeat. The match, played on 15 October 2026, was postponed for fifteen minutes due to a problem with the playing goal. Before the start, the Nerazzurri had sent a formal request to check the height of the goals, which turned out to be around three centimeters different; the issue was later resolved.
Sports Judge Stefano Palazzi, with the assistance of Irene Papi and the representative of the A.I.A. Marco Ravaglioli, announced that, following the written reservation presented by Atalanta U23, the approval of the result has been suspended. However, the disciplinary measures already adopted against members remain in force. Atalanta did not propose any appeal, as confirmed by coach Nicola Beati in a post-match interview. "I suffered this a bit, I didn't know. But I know that there was an irregularity in the measurements of the goal, it was brought up to standard and it was played calmly. Complaint? Since something irregular was verified it seems correct to resolve it. It doesn't seem like such a shocking thing to me, I don't think there are many problems", explained Beati.
Latina, after receiving the communication from the Sports Judge, removed a previous statement which suggested a possible appeal for the lack of homologation. The Bergamo team therefore decided to accept the pitch's decision, despite the performance not living up to expectations. The match was then officially confirmed with the result 2‑0 in favor of Latina.
With this decision, Atalanta U23 now focuses on the next round of Serie C, while Latina will have to review their strategy to recover points in the coming weeks. The Sports Judge's verdict establishes that the match remains valid, but the focus remains on the technical issues relating to the playing goals, which will have to be controlled more rigorously in the future to avoid further disputes.
