Ernesto Paolillo, former CEO of Inter and current manager of Piacenza, today expressed his opinion on the Milan derby and the FIGC situation. According to Paolillo, the time has come for Inter to win the derby against Milan and to adopt a more aggressive and determined approach compared to the last few matches. “It's time to get back to winning,” he said, stressing that the team must get back into shape and use their history of success to overcome their opponents.
In commenting on Milan's situation, Paolillo highlighted the difficulty of a new coach who still has to know the team in depth. "The coach is new, he must know the team that needs to blend well. But sooner or later the magic moment will come", he added, indicating that the transformation requires time and patience. As for Juventus, Paolillo expressed concern about internal confusion and the lack of a solid relationship between players and coach. "There is a lot of confusion inside, I don't see a good relationship between the players and the coach from the outside. It almost seems to me that the players are a bit listless, it's not a good sign. We need a shake-up," he said.
When asked whether the FIGC Presidency is closer to Galliani or Malagò, Paolillo declared that he is at Galliani's side. "Galliani. Absolutely Galliani. He knows football much better than Malagò, he has been in this world for many years and knows well what reforms need to be made. And then it doesn't seem to me that Malagò as designated president and then as commissioner made the right choices. I remember that there was a lot of confusion, starting with the choice of the coach", he explained.
On the future of Piacenza, Paolillo expressed optimism. "I am following him with passion because I would like to experience the adventure that I have already experienced with Spezia: a team that starts from the lower divisions and gradually rises. Overall the team is there, it needs to blend better. We started the championship badly because the team was significantly behind in preparation, in the first matches the others ran more than us. Now the team is gradually regaining the right shape. The group is compact, the players are united", he stated.
Finally, Paolillo commented on Ariedo Braida's marketing operation, which brought Ronaldinho back to the pitch for Ravenna. "I'm happy for Braida, he guessed a marketing operation. But it's not a football operation. Today it's more like 2008 than Ronaldinho", he observed, underlining that the choice is more a symbolic gesture than a real sporting investment.
