The Police Headquarters of Naples issued 11 sporting bans (Daspo) for five to ten years following the brawl that occurred after the Eccellenza match between Puteolana and Portici, played on 25 October at the "Conte" in Pozzuoli. The episode culminated with a violent clash between fans at the end of the match, which caused serious injuries to a 34-year-old visiting supporter, Mario Spedaliere, who was hit on the head and hospitalized in the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital.
Daspos were issued to eleven individuals, aged between 15 and 38, believed to be responsible for the brawl. One of the measures is aggravated because the person concerned had already been subjected to the same measure in the past. Eight of the subjects were arrested in flagrante delicto in the province of Naples, while the remaining three were reported for aggravated brawling. Among those arrested is a nineteen-year-old from Pozzuoli, recognized as having confessed to the attack. The authorities, led by the Police Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters, are investigating an alleged premeditated raid and are trying to identify the organizers of the action.
The Portici fan suffered extremely serious head trauma, forcing medical staff to intervene with a delicate emergency surgery. The community of Portici mobilized to support Spedaliere's family, organizing moments of prayer and a fundraiser. The patient's clinical condition and investigations remain evolving, with further developments expected in the coming days.
