Yacine Bammou, the former PSG and FCNantes striker, confirmed in an interview with SoFoot that he had held discussions with the Loire-Atlantique club this season, but that the negotiations were unsuccessful. The 35-year-old, who recently returned to his role as sales agent at PSG's official store before returning to ACBoulogne-Billancourt, explained that the Nantes club's difficult situation had tipped the scales in his favor.
The sporting context of FCNantes was a determining factor. The club, in the midst of a transition period, was not able to offer Bammou a long-term project. The player stressed that, despite his experience at Beaujoire, he preferred not to continue negotiations, believing that stability was preferable to an uncertain return.
Before returning to Boulogne-Billancourt, Bammou had explored several options abroad. After a season at UnionTouarga in Morocco, he had received offers from clubs in the Gulf region, but said he was not motivated by another trip. In France, he had also had discussions with Ligue2 teams, but no offers came through. This series of refusals led him to turn to his training club, where he now plays in Regional2 while assuming the role of ambassador.
Off the field, Bammou spoke about his lasting bond with former teammate Emiliano Sala. He shared that Sala's memory remains present in his daily life, motivating him and helping him put things into perspective. This relationship, which he describes as a strength, testifies to the depth of the personal bonds that run through the world of football.
Currently, Bammou is focusing on his role as a mentor at Boulogne-Billancourt, passing on his experience to young players and preparing for his professional career change. Although his professional future is no longer that of a Ligue1 player, he remains active in football, continuing to influence the next generation from regional pitches.
