RC Lens, who have just suffered a 0-2 defeat against Sporting in the Champions League, are preparing for their next home match against ESTAC Troyes. Yannick Cahuzac, the coach, announced that he would consider forming a mixed team in order to find rhythm in the championship while managing calendar constraints, in particular the next meeting in Bruges.
The center defender, Jean-Clair Todibo, is the subject of particular attention. According to information from L’Équipe, he could be included in the starting lineup alongside Kyllian Antonio and Ismaël Ganiou, thus forming a solid central axis. This decision would allow Cahuzac to spare Samson Baidoo, who returns after a long period of inactivity, while maintaining a defense capable of securing the three points. Todibo, who is among the 21 players selected, would have the opportunity to strengthen his place in the rotation thanks to his experience and his ability to play in a three-defender line.
The composition of the team is impacted by several absences. Matthieu Udol is suspended after his expulsion against Lyon, Abdallah Sima remains unavailable due to a thigh injury, and Jonathan Gradit is also absent. Defender Maïk Nawrocki is out, which reduces the defensive options available. These constraints make the presence of Todibo even more crucial for the solidity of the back line.
In midfield, Haïdara and Titraoui are expected to start, which would make it possible to maintain intensity while distributing efforts before the next European meeting. On the flanks, Ruben Aguilar is expected to replace Saud Abdulhamid on the right, while Michal Skoras could occupy the left lane. Offensively, Florian Thauvin and Florian Sotoca are likely to be partnered in support of Odsonne Édouard, a duo who showed good performances against Lyon and could be renewed to try to make the difference at Troyes.
The formation envisaged by L’Équipe would therefore be: Risser – Antonio, Ganiou, Todibo – Aguilar, Haïdara, Titraoui, Skoras – Thauvin, Sotoca – Édouard. Although this composition remains to be confirmed during the official announcement, the trend is clear: Todibo is a serious candidate for a position in a reshuffled eleven. Faced with a Troyes team struggling in the standings, Lens must above all avoid letting new points slip away, and Cahuzac will have to find the right balance between rotation and sporting ambition to ensure a solid performance.
