Pafos coach, RicardoSaPinto, opened the press conference after the defeat against Atalanta, highlighting the marked difference in level between the two teams. In a sober tone, he underlined that the goal conceded at the start of the match had made the situation even more difficult, forcing his players to be "perfect" to achieve a positive result. “We should have been more aggressive and compact, despite the goal we scored,” he said, adding that Pafos should have used two penalties to try to reduce the deficit.
SaPinto then spoke about DavidLuiz, who suffered a physical problem during the match. “We will evaluate his condition in the next 48 hours after today's physical problem,” explained the coach, indicating that the analysis of his performances will be fundamental to decide whether he can return to the field in the next match. The commentator expressed gratitude towards the fans, recognizing their warm support: "I thank the fans for their great affection. The result may not have been the best, but let's start from the second half to be able to grow further."
As for the next match, SaPinto admitted that he did not have enough time to prepare a detailed plan. “We don't have time to prepare for the next match: I will try to find some solution to best face a very strong team,” he said, suggesting that the approach will be more oriented towards pragmatic match management than a complex strategy. The coach also reiterated the need to improve defensive compactness and offensive aggressiveness, aspects which, according to him, could have changed the outcome of the match.
Pafos, who have been playing in one of the lowest seats in the Greek Premier League, now find themselves reflecting on how to improve their form for the upcoming matches. The technical management has already started to examine the weaknesses highlighted during the match against Atalanta, with particular attention to the management of penalties and the ability to maintain concentration in critical moments. Meanwhile, fans remain confident that despite the defeat, the club can find their way back to form in the coming competition days.
