Manchester City suffered a tough defeat at home to Paris Saint‑Germain, with a final score of 2‑0. Defender MarcGuehi expressed his disappointment over the result, but also highlighted the positive aspects of the second half. In particular, Guehi highlighted that although the first half was critical, the team managed to reverse the situation in the second, becoming more aggressive and winning many duels.
In the first half, according to the defender, the team should have done much better. Guehi indicated that the first two goals conceded were the result of increased aggression by PSG, which won numerous individual duels and built the foundations for its goals. “We conceded two goals because we weren't solid enough and didn't control individual duels,” Guehi said, referring to the first part of the match.
In the second half, however, the dynamic changed. Guehi noted that City became more aggressive, winning more duels and gaining momentum. “We won a lot more duels and that gave us the energy to try and score,” he explained. Despite the defeat, the player underlined the important support of the fans, who supported the team throughout the match. "Their support was extraordinary. Everyone knew that if we kept fighting, we could achieve something," he added.
Guehi also expressed hope to learn from the experience and deliver better performances in the upcoming matches. "I think this is only the initial phase of the competition. Hopefully we can learn from what happened and offer better performances in the next matches," he concluded. Manchester City, therefore, is preparing to review its strategy to recover ground in the next matches.
