Milan concluded their first match in the Europa League with a convincing 4-0 against Salzburg, and Davide Bartesaghi shared his impressions in an exclusive interview at the "mix zone" of the Red Bull Arena. The winger, who played a key role in the victory, expressed a growing desire to consolidate himself as a starter in the Rossoneri squad.
During the evening, Bartesaghi underlined his determination to demonstrate the value he can bring to the pitch. "The desire has always been present, especially in difficult moments. When things aren't going well, you have to push yourself further and I'm happy to have had this experience," he declared. The player's positive attitude reflects the competitive environment that Milan is trying to establish, where rivalry between defenders is seen as an incentive to improve individual performances.
Regarding Francesco Camarda's performance, Bartesaghi expressed confidence in the young defender. “We all know he is a great player, we are all close to him and the goal will come,” he added, indicating that the team sees Camarda as a key element for the defense and for building the game. The comment highlights the importance of continuity and growth within the team.
The topic of the competition for the starting position was addressed with sincerity. Bartesaghi explained that his motivation is fueled by the need to constantly demonstrate his worth. "I do my best to stay on the pitch, but if there is competitiveness, it's better. The more you play, the more competitive there is, and this is beneficial for both me and Estupinan," he said, referring to his colleague and the role they both try to fill in the defense.
The interview ends on a note of optimism for Milan's future. Bartesaghi reiterated that his goal is to continue giving his all to earn a place in the starting lineup. With the team already ahead in the Europa League, the technical management seems ready to exploit the internal rivalry to push the players to reach higher levels. The next step for Milan will be to consolidate the victory and prepare for the next challenges, both in the Champions League and in Serie A, with the hope of maintaining the motivation and competitiveness that led to the success against Salzburg.
