Francesco Totti, as ambassador of Serie A, expressed his enthusiasm for the future of Inter and for Cristian Chivu's role in the Nerazzurri team. During the inauguration of the new album "Calciatori Panini" in Rome, the legendary player declared that Chivu, with his experience and character, is ready to do "great things" with Inter, underlining that the defender has proven to be worthy of a great team. Totti recalled the time he spent together with Chivu as a footballer, highlighting their friendship and the trust he has in the future coach.
At the same time, the famous ex-player commented on Inter's situation in Europe, reiterating that the team is not one step less than its rivals. “You can lose a match, both in Europe and in the league, but the problem is that in Italy when you lose a match everything amplifies… Inter is a great team, a competitive team, they will reach the bottom both in Serie A and in the Champions League,” said Totti, highlighting Inter's credibility as one of the Italian teams most likely to win the Champions League.
Totti then dedicated a few words to Roma, in particular to the young striker Dusan Malen, who made the difference in Gasperini's team. "Would I have liked to play with him? Why not. A great player, he makes the difference. Since he arrived he has expressed himself at the highest levels. We are talking about a top player and I hope he continues on this team", commented the veteran, recognizing Malen's importance for Roma and his ability to contribute with goals and high-level performances.
Totti's message comes at a time of great turmoil for both teams: Inter, under new management under Chivu, is preparing to compete in both Serie A and the Champions League, while Roma, led by Gasperini, aims to consolidate their position in the league thanks to talented players like Malen. Totti's vision, based on trust in the players and their ability to make a difference, offers excellent food for thought for fans and football enthusiasts who await with interest the next challenges of both teams.
