Daniel Bertoni, former striker of Fiorentina and the Argentine national team, spoke to the official microphones of the Viola club, analyzing the difficult start he had in the championship. The former player underlined that the squad created can fight for a cup, but that success depends on the joint effort of the club, sporting director, coach and above all the players. "For me, the squad that has been created can fight for a cup. But there it is in the hands of the club, the sporting director, the coach and mainly the players, because we are the ones who go on the pitch", declared Bertoni.
In his speech he expressed great confidence in the young people of the team, in particular in Mastantuono and Pellegrino. "I expect a lot from them. They have quality, they must have more quality," he added, highlighting the need to further develop internal talent. A strong point of the interview was the compliment addressed to Oulai, who impressed the former player during the resumption of the centenary match against Frosinone. "I really liked Oulai when he came on in the second half. For me he is a different player, with all due respect to all the other guys, but you can see that he is a born director," he said.
Bertoni closed his speech with an appeal to the fans, in particular at the Curva Fiesole. "For me, Fiorentina is one of the teams I love most. I ask the fans of the Curva Fiesole, who I love, to stay close to the team. This team, with the passion, affection and warmth that you Florentines have, can go a long way", he said, underlining the importance of the fans' support in achieving the goals of the season.
Bertoni's interview comes at a crucial moment for Fiorentina, as they look to consolidate their position in Serie A and prepare for European competitions. The former player's message is clear: success requires collective commitment and trust in young talents. With the team ready to fight for a cup, attention now turns to the next round, where Fiorentina will have to demonstrate that they can transform potential into concrete results.
