Celta midfielder AleixFebas described the match against Elche, the club he left last summer, as “very special”. In the interview given to CeltaMedia, the player recalled that his time with the Elche team totaled three seasons and 117 official matches, and that returning to the city where “everything has been so beautiful” was emotional for him.
Before the match, Elche celebrated Febas with a tribute that included the presentation of a gift by general director Pedro Schinocca, in recognition of his career at the club and the promotion to the First Division that he achieved during his stay. The player expressed his gratitude and highlighted the importance of the relationship he maintains with the club.
The result of the match was a 0-0 draw. Febas described the point as “very hard work”, as Celta faced a dominant Elche that “makes you suffer without the ball”. In that sense, he praised the team's defensive work, pointing out that “we have barely conceded any chances.” At the same time, he acknowledged that Celta still needs to grow in ball handling and that “with the ball we still have to grow much more,” underlining the need to be more demanding in that aspect.
The player also regretted that the team was not able to continue the scoring streak that it showed in the victory over Racing Santander, where Celta added three points at the MartínezValero. Febas concluded that the result of the day was positive, but that the objective remains to improve the offensive phase to consolidate the club's position in the table.
With the tie, Celta maintains its position in the fight for qualification to the Champions League, while Elche continues seeking to consolidate itself in the First Division. Celta's next game is presented as an opportunity to continue consolidating the defensive strategy and improve goal production, as Febas pointed out in his interview.
