Douglas Luiz, Juventus midfielder, spoke to DAZN's microphone immediately after the victory against Lecce, where he was named MVP of the match. The striker underlined that, although the season is crucial for the club, the priority remains achieving results. "The season is very important for me, but the most important thing is that we won. We are really happy about this. We are closing the weekend in the best possible way," he declared, highlighting his satisfaction with the team's performance and with coach Antonio Spalletti.
The player then expressed appreciation for the atmosphere within Juventus, where "everyone talks about everything". For him, this climate of communication is a positive element that favors the growth of the group. “I'm happy for the group and for the coach,” he added, acknowledging Spalletti's role in leading the team towards the objectives set. The coach, who took over the team at a time of transition, showed confidence in the players' ability to overcome difficulties and consolidate their position in Serie A.
During the interview, Douglas Luiz also touched on the issue of the recovery phase after the match. He explained that although the team achieved the victory, the recovery was slower than expected, but this did not affect the final result. He also highlighted the importance of exploiting the physical characteristics of players, in particular height, to improve performance in place settings. “With Koopmeiners there is a good feeling in the squares,” he said, underlining the synergy between the two midfielders and the need to work on tactical aspects to obtain more consistent results.
The result against Lecce represented a step forward for Juventus in the race for the league table. With the victory, the team consolidates its position and reduces external pressure, as my colleague McKennie also expressed. The club, however, remains aware of the areas to improve, especially in terms of defense and management of recovery situations. Douglas Luiz reiterated the importance of continuing to work hard, especially in view of the upcoming matches in the league and in the Cup.
Looking ahead, Juventus prepares for a challenging calendar with key matches against the league's top teams. The team, led by Spalletti, intends to maintain motivation and internal cohesion to continue earning points. Douglas Luiz closed the interview with a message of hope: “We are ready for the next challenges and we believe that, with teamwork, we can achieve the objectives set.” With the victory against Lecce, Juventus demonstrates that it is ready to face the challenges that the rest of the season will bring.
