Christiano Oulai, the Ivorian midfielder who signed a contract worth 26 million euros plus bonuses with Fiorentina, continues to show determination despite the difficulties on the pitch. Arriving at the club with the esteem of a champion and with the appreciation of Antonio Conte, who defined him as "the most interesting player" seen at the World Cup, Oulai however had an almost invisible season: only six appearances, three of which were starters, and four of the last five championship games he was on the bench for 90 minutes.
Coach Paolo Vanoli, who tried to increase attention on the player, compared him to a small N'Golo Kanté, but the reality on the pitch was different. After Vanoli's arrival, Oulai's use decreased further, leaving the midfielder with a marginal role. In this context, the first rumors about his future emerged, with Oulai's name linked to Galatasaray for the winter transfer market. However, the editorial team of TuttoMercatoWeb has confirmed that the hypothesis of a farewell is not currently contemplated. Oulai, in fact, is satisfied with his career in Viola and Fiorentina seems to share this vision, keeping the player firmly linked to the club.
The hope is that, once the settling-in phase is over, Oulai can find greater continuity and a more central role in the squad. The next match against Atalanta, scheduled for 8.45pm, could represent an opportunity to see the midfielder back on the pitch. After two consecutive benches against Como and Inter, Vanoli could consider Oulai for the match against the Dea, evaluating him in two tactical positions: as a midfielder in place of Brescianini or as alongside Fagioli, granting Ndour a rest. This possibility would represent an important chance for Oulai to return to putting minutes into his legs and to start carving out a more significant space for himself in the Viola rotations.
In summary, despite initial difficulties and transfer speculation, Oulai remains an element of Fiorentina's project. The club and the player share the desire to give the midfielder the opportunity to grow and contribute to the success of the team, with the aim of consolidating his presence on the pitch in the next matches.
